Alison's art actually started at age four when Alison's mother would put her in the bathtub to finger paint. There was no water in the tub and Alison was fully dressed. Her clever mother did this as an act of self preservation. This way, all she would have to clean was the bathtub and Alison's clothes.

By age five, Alison was being reprimanded in kindergarten for coloring outside the lines (things haven't changed much) and started to color before the teacher said go. Alison was a natural born leader even then.

From there, it was oil painting classes after school, to sculpting at age eleven, the year her family lived in Rome, Italy. Then it was back to New York and classes at the Museum of Modern Art as well as The Five Towns Music and Art Foundation.

On to college in California to study architecture and fine arts, Alison received her BA Degree with a Concentration in Design after experiencing just about every creative medium available to a design student, including drafting, color theory, model building, city planning, clay 'hand building', stone carving, sketching as well as oil and acrylic painting.

After college, Alison studied ceramics, collage and decorative painting which blossomed into a career for several glorious years.

Thus over a period of two plus decades ALISON*S HEIRLOOM PROJECTS began to take form in a half dozen disciplines including the fields of ART | FOOD | GRAPHIC DESIGN | HEALING | VOICE ACTING | WRITING.

Alison studied graphic design and that developed into a career or perhaps more of a vocation as it has grown to include every facet of promotions and marketing, design, layout, writing, and now the latest digital technology.

Somewhere in there, Alison made time to also study holistic healing and have a career in health food, cooking, creating a food product and teaching nutrition.

Just to round things out, Alison studied voice acting, recorded a commercial and narrative demo with the hope still of integrating those talents into her work.

Writing has woven its way through the tapestry of the Heirloom Projects being a vehicle to expose, explain and enhance each one.
